INTERNATIONAL
MEDICAL RESCUE 24 EMERGENCY SERVICE is available so that any INSURED
PERSON may request help in the event of an emergency relating to
medical problems (recoverable under Section 2(a).
YOU must notify INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL RESCUE (agents acting on
behalf of Euclidian) immediately of any serious illness or injury
involving an INSURED PERSON whilst abroad which necessitates
admittance to a hospital as in
in-patient, or out-patient if costs are likely to exceed £500, or
before any arrangements are made for repatriation or curtailment.
(See conditions applicable to Section 2 on page 3).
The Assistance Service is there to help YOU 24 hours a day 365 days
a year.
Do not try to find YOUR own solution -
They will solve YOUR problem in the most suitable and practical way.

Quoting TPU/EUC 220187 if you have a single trip policy, or TPU/EUC
220208 if you have a multi-trip policy.
Be prepared to give; (a) insurance certificate number, (b) name and
address of agent from whom it was purchased, (c) dates of outward
and return travel (d) details of problem including names and address
of patient and nature of illness/accident, (e) names and telephone
numbers of hospital, attending doctor and usual GP.
The Assistance Service is able to (a) liaise with doctors and
hospitals (b) guarantee medical charges (c) arrange emergency
repatriation with medical escort if necessary (d) give guidance and
help to other members of the party.
This Emergency Service must not be used for casual enquiries.
MEDICAL
TREATMENT IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND
Should you require medical treatment in Australia or New Zealand
please note that reciprocal arrangements apply as far as UK
Nationals are concerned. Please ensure that YOU have YOUR passport
with YOU and if treatment is required this should be produced.
Inpatient and outpatient at a public hospital is then available
either free of charge (Australia) or at a minimal cost (New
Zealand).
Should YOU be admitted to hospital then immediate contact must be
made with INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL RESCUE and their authority obtained
in respect of any any treatment not available under reciprocal
arrangements before such treatment if provided.
RECIPROCAL HEALTH AGREEMENT
Travellers to
European
Union
countries are strongly advised to obtain form E111 from their local
Post Office . This will entitle them to benefit from the reciprocal
health arrangements which exist between European Union countries. In
the event of liability being accepted for a medical expense which
has been reduced by the use of an E111 form or Private Health
Insurance, the deduction of £50 (£60) Essential) under Section 2
(Medical and Other Expenses) will not be applied. This does
not apply where special excess terms have been imposed
HOW TO MAKE A CLAIM
In the event of any occurrence or loss which may give rise to a
claim YOU must give written notice to EUCLIDIAN as soon as
practicable but in any event within 30 days. A claim form should be
requested from:

COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE
EUCLIDIAN will do all they can to ensure that you are satisfied with
the policy and their service. If you are dissatisfied in any way
please write in the first instance to The Chief Executive , Travel
and Personal Underwriters Ltd.,

you with the very best protection for your trip. You should make
yourself aware of the cover and what you will need to do to ensure
that a claim is paid.
There is of course no substitute for reading the policy wording and
we recommend that you do this. You will also find that the IMPORTANT
FEATURES and DEFINITIONS on page 4 will help you. Please feel free
to ask any questions you wish about the insurance if you feel that
the insurance may not be suitable for you, then simply ask for a
refund on your premium. Provided you do this within 14 days of
purchase and before you travel we will be happy to give you your

INSURANCE POLICY: this contains full details of the cover provided
plus the conditions and exclusions which apply to it.
YOU MUST READ THE INSURANCE POLICY CAREFULLY
CONDITIONS AND EXCLUSIONS: there are conditions and exclusions which
apply to individual sections and general conditions and exclusions
which apply to the whole policy.
DATE CHANGE EXCLUSIONS: Changes in dates and other systems
containing computer chips, which depend on the date-related
information in order to work properly. Other than in respect of
Sections 2 (Medical Expenses) and 3 (Personal Accident), your policy
excludes anything directly or indirectly caused by the failure of
any computer hardware or software or other electrical equipment to
recognise or process any date as its true calendar date.
MEDICAL EXPENSES: the policy does not provide private health
treatment unless specifically approved by the emergency services.
HEALTH: the certificate contains conditions relating to the health
of the people travelling and others upon whose well being the trip
may depend. It may be that you are required to disclose the
condition of such people prior to cover being issued and you must be
aware of the failure to disclose such information will prejudice
your position in the event of a claim.
PROPERTY CLAIMS: these are settled on an indemnity basis - not on a
'new for old' or replacement cost basis, unless otherwise stated in
the policy.
LIMITS: most sections of the policy have limits on the amount the
insurer will pay under that section. Some sections also include
inner limits e.g. for one item, or for valuables (see definition
below) in total.
EXCESSES: claims under most sections of the policy will be subject
to an excess. Where there is an excess, you will be responsible for
paying the first part of a claim.
REASONABLE CARE: you are required to take all reasonable care to
protect yourself and your property and to act as though you are not
insured.
COMPLAINTS: the insurance policy includes a complaints procedure
which tells you what steps you can take if you wish to make a
complaint.
'COOLING OFF' PERIOD: the policy contains an inspection period which
allows you to return it and obtain a full refund if you have
justifiable reason to be dissatisfied with the cover provided.
HAZARDOUS HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES: the policy may not cover for such
activities you may need to arrange a specialist policy.
DEFINITIONS
THE UNDERWRITING AGENTS/WE/USE/OUR -
Travel and Personal Underwriters Ltd.
INSURED PERSON/YOU/YOUR/YOURSELF - Each person named in the
Schedule.
HOLIDAY/JOURNEY/TRIP.
SINGLE TRIP POLICY - Any Holiday/Journey/ business or pleasure trip
within the geographical limits (stated below) for which the
appropriate premium has been paid.
ANNUAL MULTI-TRIP POLICY - (1) A specific Holiday/Journey or
pleasure trip within the geographical limits (as stated below) for
which the appropriate premium has been paid, and booked to commence
and to end with the 12 months validity period shown on the
validation certificate. (2) In relation to Section 1a, (Loss
of Deposit) and Cancellation) cover only, a trip is a specific
journey undertaken on or after the date of issue of this policy and
cover will apply up until the date of expiry of the Period of
Insurance shown on the validation certificate. Direct travelling
time to and from the booked destination is included up to 24 hours
in each direction. The maximum length of any one trip shall not
exceed 60 consecutive days.
HOME - YOUR normal place of residence in the United Kingdom,
Channels Islands or Isle of Man.
MEDICAL PRACTITIONER - A registered practising member of the medical
profession who is not related to YOU or any person with whom YOU are
travelling.
IMR MEDICAL EMERGENCY SERVICE - International Medical Rescue.
CLOSE RELATIVE - The husband, wife, parent, parent-in-law, child,
son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchild, brother, sister, fiance(e)
or partner.
VALUABLES - Jewellery, furs, watches, articles made of or containing
precious metals or stones, mobile telephones, hearing aids, sports
or leisure equipment, musical instruments, binoculars, electronic
games, audio, video, photographic or computer equipment including
any ancillary equipment or accessories all owned by YOU.
GEOGRAPHICAL LIMITS
UNITED KINGDOM: United Kingdom including the Channel Islands
and the Isle of Man.
EUROPE: The continent of Europe, including countries west of the
Ural Mountains: the Republic of Ireland; the Azores, Canary Islands,
Iceland, Madeira, and countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea
(except Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Libya and Syria)
WORLDWIDE: Worldwide excluding USA, Canada and the Caribbean.
USA/CANADA/CARIBBEAN: Worldwide including USA, Canada and the
Caribbean.
AUSTRALIA/NEW ZEALAND: Australia and New Zealand.

IMPORTANT HEALTH CONDITIONS
Whilst this Insurance is not subject to a health warranty,
Underwriting Agents shall not be liable for claims WHERE AT THE TIME
OF TAKING OUT THIS INSURANCE:
A - The INSURED PERSON is aware of any medical conditions or set of
circumstances which could reasonably be expected to give rise to a
claim.
B - Any person (including non-travellers on whom the trip depends,
e.g. close relative)
1 - has during the twelve months prior to taking out this insurance
suffered from any chronic and/or recurring illness of a serious
nature which has necessitated consultation or treatment or has been
referred for further investigations unless declared to and accepted
by UNDERWRITING AGENTS.
2 - Is suffering, or has suffered, from any diagnosed psychiatric
disorder, anxiety or depression; or
3 - is receiving, or on a waiting list for, treatment ijn a hospital
or nursing home, or:
4 - is expected to give birth before, or within eight weeks of the
date of arrival home, or
5 - is travelling against the advice of a Medical Practitioner or
for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment abroad, or:
6 - has been given a terminal prognosis.
N.B.: The UNDERWRITING AGENTS must be notified of any changes in
circumstances of Yourself or any close relative occurring after the
policy has been issued and prior to departure.

prostate or thyroid problem, a hernia, a fracture or dislocation, an
allergy, a diverticular condition, a minor eye or hearing problem;

MEDICAL REFERRALS AND MATERIAL FACTS
It is important that any material fact such as pre-existing medical
conditions are disclosed to the UNDERWRITING AGENTS. You may
telephone the medical HELPLINE on 0800 281 488 (See 'Important
Health Conditions' above). You will be advised whether any special
terms will be required. Failure to do so could well prejudice any
subsequent claim which may be made.
A material fact is a fact likely to influence US in the acceptance
or assessment of the insurance (for example YOUR state of health or
that of a Close Relative). If YOU are in any doubt as to whether a
fact is 'material', then for YOUR own protection is should be
disclosed.

SUMMARY
OF COVER
The
validation attached to this policy booklet shows which of the
optional cover levels has been chosen for your trip. This has been
selected by the issuing agent because if represents the levels of
cover you need for your trip(s) you plan. If you would like to
change this you can contact the issuing agent of Euclidian Insurance
Services. YOU may be required to pay an additional premium and, if
your request is made more than 14 days after issue, an
administration fee.
The following table shows the maximum amounts that will be paid per
person under each section. You should refer to the validation
certificate (issued by this office) to identify the cover level that
applies to your insurance. If you have a multi-trip policy this will
also be shown on the validation certificate. Where your policy is
valid for more than one trip then the limits of cover apply to each
individual trip.

This insurance is valid when issued on or before 31st December 2003
for trips beginning on or before 31st December 2004 and attached to
a fully completed validation showing payment of the insurance
premium

THE
COVER
This policy is a CONTRACT OF INSURANCE. It contains details of the
cover, conditions and exclusions relating to each INSURED PERSON and
is the basis on which all claims will be settled. In consideration
of the payment of the required premium. Travel and Personal
Underwriters Ltd (THE UNDERWRITING AGENTS) hereby agree
to pay of indemnify the INSURED PERSON or his/her personal
representative as follows: subject to the terms conditions and
exclusions of this policy, on the schedule and in the application
form.
PERIOD OF INSURANCE
SINGLE TRIP POLICY:
Under Section 1a (Loss of Deposit and Cancellation) insurance is
effective from the date of issue of the policy and terminates on
commencement of the planned HOLIDAY/JOURNEY.
ANNUAL MULTI-TRIP POLICY
Under section 1a (Loss of Deposit and Cancellation) Insurance is
effective from the date of issue of the policy and terminates on
commencement of the planned HOLIDAY/JOURNEY is booked or from the
date of issue (whichever is the later) and terminates on
commencement of the planned HOLIDAY/JOURNEY (or the expiry
date of this policy). The maximum period of any one trip is 60 days.
ALL POLICIES
In respect of Curtailment and all other Sections insurance commences
when YOU leave YOUR place of residence or business (whichever is the
later) to commence the JOURNEY until the time of return to YOUR
place of residence or business (whichever is the earlier) on
completion of the JOURNEY. In any event not to commence more than 24
hours prior to booked departure time or cease more than 24 hours
after booked return to the UK.
Cover is only available for the whole duration of the booked trip.
Cover cannot be effected once a journey has commenced.
If due
to unforeseen reasons beyond YOUR control the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY cannot
be completed within the PERIOD OF INSURANCE (as stated in the
attached schedule), cover will be extended for up to a maximum of 30
days at no extra cost.
Application must be made to US for any other extension. Such
extension will become effective only upon acceptance by US and the
receipt of the appropriate additional premium.
ONE WAY TRIPS - This Insurance is primarily
designed for one round trip commencing and finishing at YOUR normal
place of residence in the UK> Insurance may be provided for one way
trips subject to a maximum Period of Insurance of 17 days. The
Insurance provided is restricted to the cover and conditions that
would have applied had YOU intended to return to the UK at the end
of the Period of the TRIP.
SECTION 1 (a) LOSS OF DEPOSIT OR CANCELLATION.
(The maximum amount payable is the amount shown against this section
in the table on page 6 for the cover level selected on the
validation)
We will reimburse YOU in respect of irrecoverable deposits or
charges paid in advance or contracted to be paid for travel and
accommodation not used by YOU, as a direct result of the
HOLIDAY/JOURNEY being NECESSARILY AND UNAVOIDABLY cancelled owing
to:

(1)YOUR
death, illness or injury; or
(2) the death, serious injury or serious illness of (i) any CLOSE
RELATIVE of YOURS; or (ii) a person with whom YOU had planned to
travel; or (iii) any person with WHOM YOU had arranged temporarily
to reside with during YOUR trip: or
(3) YOU or any person with whom YOU had planned to travel being
subject to jury service, attendance under subpoena as a witness at a
Court of Law (other than in the line of duty), compulsory
quarantine, or being made redundant (provided that YOU or that
person is under 65 and had been employed on a continuous full time
basis with the same employer for at least two years); or
(4) Fire occurring at YOUR Home, when YOU are requested to remain by
the Fire/Police Authorities ALL occurring after the insurance has
been effected and before the commencement of the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY.
PLEASE NOTE: This insurance will cease once YOU have made a claim
for Cancellation.
CONDITION
Where cancellation is due to injury or illness, it is a condition of
this Policy that YOU must obtain a certificate from the treating
MEDICAL PRACTITIONER prior to the intended date of travel confirming
the need to cancel.
SEE EXCLUSIONS to Sections 1(a) and (b) below.
SECTION 1(b) CURTAILMENT
(The maximum amount payable is the amount shown against this section
in the table on page 6 for the cover level selected on the
validation). We will reimburse YOUR prepaid accommodation expenses
for the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY and return HOME as a result of:
(1) YOUR death, serious injury or serious illness (occurring during
the period of the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY) or that of any person with whom
YOU are travelling or any CLOSE RELATIVE or BUSINESS ASSOCIATE of
YOURS resident in the United Kingdom; or
(2) fire, theft, storm or flood occurring at YOUR HOME when YOU are
requested to return by the Fire/Police Authorities.
PLEASE NOTE: that Curtailment claims will be calculated from the day
YOU return to the United Kingdom or YOUR usual country of residence
of YOU are hospitalised as an inpatient. YOUR claim will be based
solely on the number of complete nights' accommodation lost. In
respect of travel expenses, we will pay for any reasonable
additional costs but not for the loss of YOUR pre-booked
arrangements.
CONDITIONS
1. Where curtailment is due to YOUR serious injury or serious
illness, a certificate must be obtained from the treating MEDICAL
PRACTITIONER abroad confirming the necessity to return to YOUR HOME,
or appropriate medical facility.
2. The prior approval of IMR must be obtained to confirm the
necessity to return HOME, for any reasons or by any method other
than as originally planned. Failure to do so may effect the
assessment of YOUR claim.

SECTION
1(a) and (b) EXCLUDE
We will not pay for claims arising
1. Where YOU are receiving or on a waiting list for or have
knowledge of the need for an in-patient treatment at a hospital of
nursing home.
2. Where YOU have received a terminal prognosis.
3. From any psychiatric disorder, anxiety state and/or depression
suffered by YOU and diagnosed prior to the date of validation of
this Policy.
4. Where YOU are expected to give birth before or within 8 weeks of
your planned date of return to the UK.
5. If YOU are travelling against the advice of a MEDICAL
PRACTITIONER or for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment
abroad.
6. From the cost of returning to the original destination to
complete the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY originally planned and increased
expenses related to further accommodation there.
7. From ongoing medical conditions unless declared to and accepted
by US.
8. From any costs in respect of visas obtained in connection with
the TRIP.
9. Due to Disinclination to travel.
10. Excess. The first £50 (£60) essential) of each and every claim
per INSURED PERSON is excluded (£15 for Loss of Deposit claims)
SECTION 2(a) - MEDICAL AND OTHER EXPENSES
(The maximum amount payable is the amount shown against this section
in the table on page 6 for cover level selected on the validation)
WE will reimburse YOU in respect of the:
1. reasonable emergency medical, surgical and hospital treatment
incurred as a result of YOUR injury or unforeseen illness occurring
during the period of the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY. At the sole discretion of
IMR, who reserve the right to make the final decision as to whether
or not it is medically ne4cessary, this also includes the cost of
repatriation to the UK, by whatever means deemed medically
necessary. Emergency dental treatment is covered up to £250.00 for
the immediate relief of pain only excluding the fitting of crowns
and additional cosmetic treatment.
2. reasonable additional accommodation (room only) and travel costs
(if YOU cannot use the return portion of your ticket) necessarily
and unavoidable incurred by
(i) YOU, where it is necessary for YOU to stay beyond the intended
return date due to YOUR illness of injury.
(ii) a relative or friend required on medical advice to travel to,
remain with or escort YOU as a result of YOUR death, serious injury
or serious illness.
3. reasonable charges for burial or cremation in the event of YOUR
death outside the United Kingdom in the locality where death occurs
and/or the cost of transport of body or ashes to the United Kingdom
for an amount not exceeding £5,000
4. cost of transporting YOUR remains to the normal place of
residence in the United Kingdom in the event of death in the United
Kingdom, for an amount not exceeding £1,000.
WE reserve the right to repatriate YOU to the United Kingdom when in
the opinion of the MEDICAL PRACTITIONER in attendance and IMR YOU
ARE FIT TO TRAVEL.
NOTE: Repatriation expenses will involve the use of identical class
of travel to that utilised on the outward journey unless agreed by
US or IMR that the ticket can be upgraded,

SECTION 2(b) - ADDITIONAL HOSPITAL BENEFIT
(The maximum amount payable is the amount shown against this section
in the table on page 6 for the cover level selected on the
validation)
If YOU are admitted to a hospital outside the as an in-patient owing
to accidental bodily injury or illness sustained outside the United
Kingdom, WE will pay a benefit of £15 for each complete 24 hours YOU
are in hospital subject to a maximum of £500 for each INSURED PERSON.
Condition applicable to 2(a) and 2(b)
IT IS A CONDITION OF THIS INSURANCE THAT IMR MUST BE NOTIFIED
IMMEDIATELY OF ANY ILLNESS OF INJURY WHICH NECESSITATES ADMITTANCE
TO HOSPITAL ABROAD AS IN IN-PATIENT, OR OUT-PATIENT IF COSTS ARE
LIKELY TO EXCEED £500, OR BEFORE ANY ARRANGEMENTS ARE MADE FOR
REPATRIATION. IMR MUST ALSO BE NOTIFIED IN YOUR RETURN IS DELAYED
DUE TO MEDICAL REASONS, FAILURE TO DO SO WILL PREJUDICE YOUR CLAIM
(see page 2(a) and 2(b) Excludes
WE will not pay for claims where:

treatment or aid is obtained in the United Kingdom.
2. surgical or medical treatment which in the opinion of the
treating MEDICAL PRACTITIONER can be reasonably delayed until your
return to the United Kingdom.
3. there is an additional cost of single or private room
accommodation at a hospital or nursing home, except where the
treating MEDICAL PRACTITIONER considers it necessary for YOU to
occupy such accommodation.
4. YOU are receiving or on a a waiting list for or have knowledge of
the need for in-patient treatment at a hospital or nursing home.
5. YOU have prior to departure received a terminal prognosis.
6. there is any anxiety state and/or depression suffered by YOU and
diagnosed prior to the date of the validation of this Policy.
7. YOU are expected to give birth before or within 8 weeks of the
return date shown on the Schedule.
8.YOU are travelling against the advice of a MEDICAL PRACTITIONER or
for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment.
9. YOU are suffering from any ongoing medical conditions unless
declared to and accepted by US.
10. costs and expenses incurred more than 12 months after the return
date shown on the Schedule.
11. We shall not be liable for
(i) any expenses of fees for in-patient treatment or repatriation
which have not been notified to and authorised by US or IMR.
(ii) any costs in respect of telephone calls other than the first
telephone call to IMR notifying them of the problem.
(iii) the cost of any elective treatment of surgery including
exploratory tests, which are not directly related to the illness of
injury which necessitated YOUR admittance to hospital.
(iv) any expenses incurred as a result of a tropical disease where
the recommended inoculations have not been undertaken.
12 Excess: The first £50 (£60 if Essential cover is selected) of
each and every claim per INSURED PERSON is excluded under section 2
(a).
SECTION
3 - PERSONAL ACCIDENT
If YOU sustain accidental bodily injury caused by violent means and
provided such injury solely and independently of any other cause
results, within twelve calendar months of the date of the accident,
in death of disablement as defined below, WE will Pay one of the
following benefits:
(i) Death - £10,000
(ii) Loss of one or more limbs and/or sight in one or both eyes -
Amount shown in Summary of Cover on page 6.
(iii) Permanent Total Disablement - Amount shown in Summary of Cover
on page 6
If YOU are:
(a) under 16 years of age Benefit (i) above is reduced to £1,000; or
(b) aged 70 years or over no cover operates in respect of Benefit
(ii) and (iii).
In no event shall OUR liability in respect of the INSURED PERSON
exceed the amount shown in Summary of Cover on page 6
DEFINITIONS
Loss of limb means permanent loss by physical severance at or above
the wrist or ankle.
Loss of sight means complete and irrecoverable loss of sight.
Permanent total disablement means total disablement from engaging in
or attending to any occupation for at least twelve months from the
date of injury and at the end of that time being beyond hope of any
improvement.
SECTION 3 EXCLUDES
WE will not pay
1. for claims resulting from motorcycling
2. for claims arising out of manual labour in connection with YOUR
trade, business or profession
3. for claims arising from YOUR:
(a) suicide or attempted suicide
(b) being affected
(i) (temporarily or otherwise) by alcohol or drug(s)
(ii) by any sexually transmitted disease or condition
(c) wilfully self inflicted injury or wilful exposure to danger,
except in an attempt to save human life.

SECTION
4 - PERSONAL PROPERTY, MONEY AND VALUABLES
(The maximum amount is the amount shown against this section in the
table on page 6 for the cover level selected on the validation)
1. WE will reimburse YOU in respect of accidental loss of theft of
or damage to:
(i) Personal Luggage - which means suitcases, trunks or like
receptacles and clothing and personal effects worn or carried on the
person all owned by (not hired by, loaned or entrusted to) YOU but
excluding Personal Money and Valuables.
(ii) Personal Money - which means cash, bank or currency notes,
cheques, travellers cheques, postal or money orders, travel tickets,
passports, petrol coupons or credit vouchers.
(iii) VALUABLES (as defined on page 4)
In the event of Personal Luggage being temporarily lost in transit
to the holiday destination for longer than 12 hours, WE will pay up
to £100 for the purchase of essential items of clothing and personal
requisites. Any payments under this heading will be deducted from
claims under Swection4 (i) in respect of the same property.
OUR limit in respect of
(i) personal luggage is the amount shown in the Summary of Cover on
page 6 (limited to £500) if YOU are aged under 16 years on the date
of departure), subject to the limit shown in the Summary of Cover
for 'any one article' for any article of pair or set of articles
irrespective of single or joint ownership.
(ii) money is the amount shown in the Summary of Cover on page 6,
but for loss of cash, bank or currency notes the limit is the amount
shown in the Summary of Cover as 'Cash Limit', whether in the
custody of one or more INSURED PERSONS irrespective of ownership.
(iii ) VALUABLES is the amount shown in the Summary of Cover on page
6, subject to a limit specified in (ii) above for any one article or
pair or set of articles irrespective of single or joint ownership.
In respect of (ii) and (iii) above there is a combined limit of £100
if YOU are aged under 16 years on the date of departure.
BASIS OF CLAIM SETTLEMENT
Claims will be dealt with on an indemnity basis NOT 'new for old'.
Indemnity basis means the purchase price as new of the article less
deduction for wear and tear and depreciation , or the cost of repair
whichever is the lesser. If an article is damaged beyond economical
repair a claim will be dealt with as if the article had been lost.
SECTION 4 EXCLUDES
WE will not pay for claims arising from:
1. accidental loss of or theft or damage to property left unattended
other than whilst:
(i) in YOUR locked accommodation

(ii) in
a locked boot or locked and covered luggage compartment of a motor
vehicle provided that
(a) there is evidence of forcible and violent entry to such vehicle
(b) no cover shall apply in respect of property in vehicles left
unattended at any time between the hours of 10pm and 8am.
2. Unattended Valuables and Money are only covered whilst with the
hotel security or locked in a hotel safety deposit box.
3. YOUR failure to inform the police as soon as possible of any less
or theft of Personal Luggage or theft or loss of Personal Money or
Valuables and failure to obtain a written report.
4. accidental loss of theft of or damage to property whilst in the
custody of an airline or other carrier, unless reported immediately
on discovery. In the case of an airline a Property Irregularity
Report must be obtained.
5. LOSS OR THEFT OF PERSONAL MONEY AND VALUABLES WHILST IN TRANSIT
FROM BAGGAGE NOT IN YOUR CUSTODY OR CONTROL.
6. loss of theft or damage to:
(i) stamps and documents (other than those specifically mentioned)
(ii) spectacles, sun glasses, contact or corneal lenses
(iii) breakage or chipping of glass, porcelain, ceramic or china or
any consequential loss resulting fr4om such breakage.
(iv) business goods or samples or business money
(v) land, air or water craft of any kind including cycles but
excluding any models or toys
(vi) items of a perishable nature
(vii) sports equipment whilst in use
(viii) household goods and home contents
7. accidental loss or theft of travellers cheques, unless reported
to the local branch or agent of the issuing authority as soon as
possible.
8. shortages of Personal Money due to error, omission or variations
in exchange rates or depreciation in value.
9. normal wear and tear, depreciation, gradual deterioration or
mechanical or electrical breakdown.
10. accidental loss, theft or damage arising from delay or
confiscation or detention by Customs or other official.
11. loss of jewellery whilst swimming (other than wedding
rings)
12. Property more specifically insured elsewhere
13. Claims will not be considered unless substantiated by an
original sales receipt or original valuation for any one item, pair
or set exceeding £50. In respect of VALUABLES (see definition on
page 4) claims will not be considered unless an original sales
receipt or original valuation is provided.
14. Excess: the first £50 (£60 essential) of each and every loss or
claim each INSURED PERSON is excluded.

SECTION
5 - LOSS OF PASSPORT EXPENSES
Limit £250each Insured Person.
If during the Period of the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY YOUR passport is
accidentally lost of stolen, WE will reimburse the reasonable
additional accommodation and travel expenses necessarily incurred
abroad by You in obtaining a replacement up to a maximum of £250.
SECTION 5 EXCLUDES
WE will not pay for claims arising where YOU fail to:
(i) notify the nearest British Embassy of Consulate; and
(ii) obtain a written report from the British Embassy or Consulate
of such loss.
N.B. THIS SECTION only applies to holders of valid BRITISH
PASSPORTS.
SECTION
6 - PERSONAL LIABILITY
Limit of Indemnity £1,000,000
WE will reimburse YOU for all sums which YOU are personally legally
liable to pay for accidents which result in:
1. death or bodily injury to any person
2. loss of damage to their property occurring during the period of
the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY. The total amount payable for all claims made
against YOU arising from any one occurrence is £1,000,000. WE will
in addition pay any legal costs and expenses awarded against YOU or
incurred by YOU with our written consent.
SECTION
6 EXCLUDES
WE will not pay for:
1. Punitive and exemplary damages.
2. Liability in respect of:
(a) death or bodily injury to YOUR employees or YOUR RELATIVES of
members of YOUR household permanently living with YOU or a
travelling companion.
(b) loss of or damage to property which belongs to YOU is is in YOUR
custody or control, that that of YOUR RELATIVE or members of YOUR
household or YOUR employee, or a travelling companion.
(c) YOUR trade, business or profession.
(d) the ownership or occupation of any land or building (other than
occupation only of any temporary holiday accommodation, in which the
first £100 of each and every claim is excluded).
(e) the ownership, possession or use of animals (other than domestic
dogs not included in Section 1(i) of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 or
horses used solely for hacking or trekking), motorised or mechanical
vehicles, ships, boats or craft of any kind.
(f) any contract or agreement unless liability would have been
applied anyway.
(g) any wilful or malicious or reckless act on YOUR part.
3. Costs and expenses incurred after the date on which WE have
offered to pay the limit of indemnity.
SECTION 7 - MISSED DEPARTURE
Limit of Liability £300 (Europe) £650 (Worldwide)
WE will reimburse YOU up to the limit of liability in respect of
additional accommodation and travel expenses necessarily incurred to
reach the overseas destination as a result of the failure of the
vehicle in which YOU are travelling to deliver YOU to the final
United Kingdom departure point in time to join the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY
due to:
(i) adverse weather conditions
(ii) strike
(iii) industrial action
(iv) mechanical breakdown
(v) accident to the vehicle
provided YOU shall take all reasonable steps to arrive at the point
of departure by the time stated in the Tour Operator's brochure or
other travel documents issued by the Travel Organiser.
SECTION 7 EXCLUDES
WE will not pay for
1. claims arising from strike or industrial action prior to the
commencement of departure from YOU HOME or place of business
whichever is later.
2. The cost of repairs to the vehicle in which YOU are travelling.
CONDITION
A repairers report will be required in the event of a claim in
respect of a car breakdown, together with proof that the vehicle has
been properly serviced.
N.B. THIS SECTION APPLIES ONLY IN RESPECT OF AN OUTWARD JOURNEY FROM
THE UNITED KINGDOM TO AN OVERSEAS DESTINATION.

8 - DELAYED DEPARTURE
(The maximum amount payable is the amount shown against this section
in the table on page 6 for the cover level selected on the
validation)
If the departure of the aircraft, train, coach or sea vessel in
which YOU had booked to travel on the first outward leg or first
return leg of the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY is delayed for at least 12 hours
from the time specified in the official itinerary supplied to YOU as
a result of:
(i) strike or industrial action
(ii) adverse weather conditions
(iii) mechanical breakdown of the aircraft, train, coach or sea
vessel
WE will pay either:
(a) compensation of £20 for the first full 12 hours delay and £10
for each further full 12 hours delay up to limit of liability (a)
shown in the Summary of Cover on page 6. The delay will be
calculated from the departure time of the aircraft train coach or
sea vessel specified in the official itinerary supplied to YOU; or
(b) on the outward journey if after 12 hours delay YOU elect to
abandon the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY, WE will pay up the limit of liability
(b) shown in the Summary of Cover on page 6 in respect of prepaid
expenses or expenses contracted to be paid for YOUR benefit which
are not recoverable from any other course.
N.B. A claim cannot be made under both (a) and (b) or under both
section 8 and Section 1 (a) (Cancellation).
SECTION
8 EXCLUDES
WE will not pay for claims arising
1. where YOU fail to check in at the airport, station or port of
departure specified in the official itinerary issued by the Tour
Operator, Tour Organiser or Carrier.
2. where YOU fail to obtain written confirmation from the carriers
(or their handling agents) of the number of hours delay and the
reason for the delay.
3. from strikes or industrial action unless the announcement and
onset of the strike or industrial action occurred after the
commencement of the PERIOD OF INSURANCE.
4. from public demonstration, civil unrest or any form or protest
(including actions not specifically directed at an employer or group
of employers).
5. where YOU are entitled to the same or similar benefit under any
scheme arranged by a Tour Operator, Tour Organiser or Carrier.
6. Excess. The first £50 (£60 essential) of each and every claim
each INSURED PERSON is excluded in respect of (b) only.
SECTION 9 - LEGAL EXPENSES
(The maximum amount payable is the amount shown against this section
in the table on page 6 for the cover level selected on the
validation)
To pay legal costs and expenses incurred by YOU in pursuit of
compensation and/or damages against a third party arising from or
out of YOUR death or personal injury occurring during the Period of
the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY.
1. WE shall not be liable for
(a) Costs incurred in pursuance of any claim against a Travel Agent,
Tour Operator, Carrier.
(b) Legal expenses incurred incurred prior to the granting of
support by US.
(c) Any claims reported more than 180 days after the commencement of
the incident giving rise to such claim.
(d) Any claim where the laws, practices, and/or financial
regulations of the country in which the proposed action will take
place indicate that the costs of such action are likely to be
reasonably greater that the anticipated value of the compensated
award.
(e) Costs incurred in pursuance of a claim against any person with
whom YOU had arranged to travel.
(f) Any claim where YOU are insured for legal expenses under any
other insurance policy.
(g) Any claim where in OUR opinion there is insufficient prospect of
success in obtaining a reasonable benefit.

We shall
not be liable for any claim where legal costs and expenses are based
directly or indirectly on the amount of an award.
3. The insurance will not extend to covering YOU in the pursuit of
any appeal except at OUR sole discretion.
4. Where there is a possibility of a claim being brought in more
than one country WE shall not be liable for the costs if an action
is brought in more than one country.
CONDITIONS
1. WE shall have complete control over the legal proceedings and the
appointment and control of a lawyer.
2. YOU must follow the legal representatives advice and provide any
information and assistance required.
3. WE must have access to any and all the legal representatives file
of papers.
4. WE may include a claim for OUR costs and expenses.
5. Failure by YOU to comply with all of any of these
conditions will entitle US to render the legal expenses aspect of
this insurance void and thereby withdraw cover.
ADDITIONAL WINTER SPORTS COVER
Provided the appropriate premium has been paid then cover for
Sections 1-9 is extended to include Winter Sports activities but
excluding off-piste skiing, ski-racing in major events, ski-jumping,
ice hockey, the use of bobsleighs or skeletons, and in addition the
following sections 10,11, 12 and 13 are included.
SECTION 10 - WINTER SPORTS EQUIPMENT
Limited each INSURED PERSON £300
To pay up to £300 in all each INSURED PERSON in respect of
accidental loss or theft or damage to snowboards, skis, bindings,
boots or poles under 5 years old subject to a limit of £250 any one
pair (see note below). There is an overall limit of £200 in respect
of hired equipment.
NOTE: Claims for owned ski equipment only will be purchase price: up
to one year old - 90% of purchase price; up to 2 years old -
70%; up to 4 years 30%; up to 5 years - 20%; over 5 years - nil.
SECTION 10 Excludes
WE will not pay for claims arising from
1. accidental loss or of theft or damage to property left unattended
other than whilst:
(i) protected with a suitable ski lock
(ii) in YOUR locked accommodation
(iii) in a locked boot or locked and covered luggage compartment of
a motor vehicle provided that
(a) there is evidence of forcible and violent entry to such vehicle
(b) no cover shall apply in respect of property in vehicles left
unattended at any time between the hours of 10pm and 8am
2. loss of or damage to any article or goods on roof racks
(i) by weather conditions resulting from failure to protect items

theft or malicious persons whilst the vehicle is unattended
3. damaged winter sports equipment owned by YOU not returned to the
UK for inspection.
4. ski equipment used by persons for whom it was not designed.
5. any loss, theft or suspected theft unless YOU inform the police
as soon as possible and obtain a written report.
6. accidental loss or theft of or damage to property whilst in the
custody of an airline or other carrier unless reported immediately
upon discovery. In the case of an airline a Property Irregularity
Report must be obtained.
7. Excess: The first £50 (£60 essential) of each and every loss or
claim each INSURED PERSON is excluded.
SECTION 11 - HIRE OF SKIS.
Limit each INSURED PERSON £150
To pay up to £150 in all each Insured Person in respect of the
reasonable cost of hiring a snowboard, skis, bindings, boots or
poles as a result of the accidental loss or theft of or damage or
temporary loss in transit for more than 12 hours of YOUR own
equipment during the PERIOD OF INSURANCE.
SECTION 12 - UNUSED SKI PACK
Limit each INSURED PERSON £300
To Pay up to £300 in all each INSURED PERSON in respect of the
proportionate loss of irrecoverable ski pack costs paid or
contracted to be paid prior to the JOURNEY/HOLIDAY consequent on YOU
becoming ill or sustaining personal injury during the Period of the
JOURNEY/HOLIDAY and certified by a MEDICAL PRACTITIONER as being
unable to ski and a written report obtained.
A ski pack shall consist of pre-booked lift and passes, hired skis,
bindings and boots, and ski school fees.
SECTION 12 EXCLUDES
WE will not pay for:
Claims where a written report has not been obtained from a MEDICAL
PRACTITIONER.
SECTION 13 0 PISTE CLOSURE.
Limit each INSURED PERSON £200
Cover is effective only during the period 10th December to 30th
April.
In the event that due to lack of snow conditions which result in the
total closure of skiing facilities (excluding cross country skiing)
in the resort to which YOU had pre-booked to travel it is not
possible to ski, WE will pay up to a maximum of £20 per day for
transportation to an alternative site for so long as such conditions
prevail in the booked resort but in any case not exceeding the
pre-booked period of YOUR TRIP. In the event that there are no
alternative sites available, WE will pay £20 for each day's
skiing lost up to £200 in all each INSURED PERSON.
SECTION 13 EXCLUDES
WE shall not be liable for claims:
1. where YOU have not obtained written confirmation of closure
from the Tour Operator's local representative.
2. where not all skiing facilities are closed.
3. where lack of snow conditions are known of or are public
knowledge at the time of effecting this insurance.

14 - SCHEDULED AIRLINE FAILURE
(where appropriate premium paid)
This cover is provided by International Passenger Protection
Limited, Foxbury House, Foxbury Road, Foxbury Road, Bromley, Kent
BR1 4DG. United Kingdom and is underwritten by a consortium of
Association of British Insurers member Companies.
THE INSURER WILL PAY up to £1500 in total for each PERSON-INSURED
named on the Invoice and Airline Ticket for:
1.
Irrecoverable sums paid in advance and in the event of insolvency of
the scheduled airline not forming part of an inclusive holiday prior
to departure
OR
2. In the event of insolvency after departure:
(a) additional pro rata costs incurred by the Person-Insured in
replacing that part of the flight arrangements to a similar standard
to that originally booked or
(b) if curtailment of the holiday is unavoidable - the cost of
return flights to the United Kingdom or any European Union member
country to a similar standard to the originally booked.
THE INSURER WILL NOT PAY FOR:
- Scheduled flights not booked within the United Kingdom
- Scheduled flights not booked through a bonded travel agent or
direct with
scheduled airline
- The Financial Failure of:
(a) any scheduled airline in Chapter 11 at the date of issue of the
Certificate
(b) any scheduled airline bonded or insured elsewhere (even
if the bond is insufficient to meet the claim)
(c) Any travel agent, tour organiser, booking agent or consolidator
with whom the insured has booked a scheduled flight.

SPECIAL
CONDITIONS
1. It is a special condition that no HOLIDAY/JOURNEY is booked or
undertaken against medical advice or for the purpose of obtaining
medical treatment.
2. It is a special condition that YOU are not aware of any reason
why the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY may be cancelled or curtailed.
3. It is a special condition that if YOU have a medical condition or
YOU are undergoing investigations and/or tests for the
presence of a medical condition which could necessitate cancellation
or curtailment of the Holiday/Journey, YOU must contact the Medical
Screening Line (detailed in 'Important Health Conditions' on page 5)
to confirm cover.
4.
The MEDICAL EMERGENCY SERVICE must be advised immediately in the
event of
(a) YOUR hospitalisation; or
(b) YOUR intended repatriation for medical reasons; or:
(c) the need to return earlier than the original booked return date
when the cause of such return may be insured under Section 1 (b)
Curtailment of the Policy; or
(d) if out-patient treatment appears likely to cost more than £500;
or
(e) if YOUR return is delayed due to medical reasons or YOUR
inability to return HOME as planned due to medical reasons occurring
during the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY.
GENERAL CONDITIONS
Claims Procedure and Requirements
1. On the happening of any illness, injury, loss or damage, YOU must
at YOUR own expense:
(a) give US full details in writing as soon as possible after any
event which could lead to a claim under this Policy
(b) take all reasonable precautions to prevent further illness,
injury, loss or damage
(c) immediately inform the police of any loss or theft of Personal
Possessions or Money or VALUABLES and obtain a written report.
(d) supply all reports, certificates, information, evidence and
assistance as may be required by US
(e) send to US any writ, summons or other legal document served on
YOU and must not answer any correspondence without OUR written
consent
2 WE shall be entitled
(a) to negotiate, defend or settle in YOUR name and on YOUR behalf
any claim made against YOU
(b) to prosecute in YOUR name for OUR benefit any claim
against any person in respect of any amount paid or payable under
this Policy.
YOU shall as often as required submit to medical examination
at OUR expense in connection with any claim under Sections 1
(Cancellation and Curtailment), 2 (Medical and Other Expenses), or
3(Personal Accident) and in the event of YOUR death, WE shall have
the right to a post mortem at OUR own expense.
3. All damaged property must be retained for inspection, becoming
Our property upon settlement of the claim.
4. Any claims arising under this Insurance shall be governed by the
Law of England whose Courts alone shall have jurisdiction in any
dispute arising hereunder.
GENERAL EXCLUSIONS
This Policy
1. Claims directly or indirectly arising from
(i) YOUR engaging in:
(a) winter sports unless the appropriate additional premium has been
paid, in which case 'Winter Sports' is amended to off-piste skiing,
ski racing in major events, ski jumping, ice hockey, the use of
bobsleighs or skeletons.

(b)
parachuting, aerial activities, aeronautics or aviation other that
as a fare paying passenger in a licensed passenger aircraft.
(c) motorcycling (other than mopeds and motorcycles up to 150cc
hired during the period of the HOLIDAY/JOURNEY and for which YOU
hold a current driving licence), yachting outside coastal waters
(which are defined as being with sight of land) unless declared to
and accepted by Underwriters, motor competitions, aqualung diving,
any form of combat, climbing necessitating the use of ropes or
guides, polo, pot-holing, riding in or on any boat designed to
travel at a speed in excess of 30 knots, crewing a vessel from one
country to another, water ski-jumping and tricks, racing other than
on foot, show jumping and any other sport or pastime of a comparably
hazardous nature
(c) work of any kind undertaken during the period of the
HOLIDAY/JOURNEY other than clerical, managerial or commercial duties
(e) association or rugby football or any professional sports
(f) taking part in expeditions or treks
(ii) YOUR
(a)
suicide or attempted suicide
(b) being affected
(i) (temporarily or otherwise) by alcohol or drug (s)
(ii) by any sexually transmitted disease or condition
(c) wilfully self inflicted injury or wilful exposure to danger,
except in an attempt to save human life
2. Loss (including any consequential loss), bodily injury, damage or
liability resulting or arising from or directly or indirectly caused
or contributed to by
(a) Ionising radiations or contamination by radioactivity from any
nuclear fuel or from waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel
(b) The radioactive toxic explosive or other hazardous properties of
any explosive nuclear assembly of nuclear component thereof
(c) Detention or confiscation or requisition by any Government or
Public or Local Authority
(d) Pressure waves caused by aircraft or other aerial devices
(e) War, invasion, act of foreign enemy, hostilities (whether war be
declared or not), civil war, terrorist activity (this
exclusion does not apply to Section 2 (Medical and Other Expenses),
3 (Personal Accident) and 4 (Personal Property, Money and
Valuables), the UNDERWRITING AGENTS shall not be liable for any
loss, injury, damage, illness, death or legal liability arising
directly or indirectly from, or consisting of, the following: The
failure or fear of failure or inability of any equipment or any
computer program, whether or not YOU own it, to recognise or to
correctly interpret or process any date as its true calendar date,
or to continue to function correctly beyond that date.
4. This policy does not cover any person who is not normally
resident in the UK
5. Consequential loss of any kind.
6.Bankruptcy/Liquidation of any tour operator, travel agency,
transportation company or accommodation supplier.
7. Manual work unless declared to and accepted by the UNDERWRITING
AGENTS.
8. Travelling to countries where the British Foreign Office have
advised against travel.
