Dzanja LaChifundo is a Registered Trust, formed to provide
the following:
Food & shelter, primary & secondary and further education, medical assistance,
religion and child development for Aids Orphans. Primarily but not restricted to Thyolo, Chigamula and Bvumbwe Districts of the Southern Region of Malawi.
We were first asked to help children orphaned by Aids, initially to provide for
a basic subsistence daily meal, but soon after opening the soup kitchen, demands
increased and we now aim to provide all manner of additional criteria.
Education, uniforms, medical, clothing, counselling, child development and
training are all now included.
All workers are volunteers and the orphanage operates by charity giving by those
who wish to support this work.
We gratefully
appreciate gifts towards the running of the orphanage.
We have over 50 children living with us ranging ranging from 3 years up to 16 years.}

Lucy Hayes moved to the centre December 2007
Gordon & Lucy were married in the UK in January 2006
Lucy has been involved with the Orphanage since 2003.
Gordon is from Port Shepstone, South Africa, and Lucy is from Exeter UK.
